Being a Better Dad in 2012 ...

There are a lot of books on being a better dad out there.  The problem is that, like a lot of guys I know, I don't read much.  So, I want something to help me that is short and to the point.

I think I found one.

This pastor guy, named Driscoll, has written a free (the price is right!) e.book (online, so even better) that is less than 45 pages long.

As a little tasty treat, can I mention that chapter one is only 2 paragraphs long?!?  This is my kinda book. Plus, because he is a pastor and all, Driscoll has stuffed this book like a Christmas turkey, full of biblical wisdom.  I like that.

You can read it online HERE or you can download a PDF for later viewing HERE.

Now go read a bit and be a better dad along with me ...

I like the idea of being a better dad. And I agree that short and sweet is great. But I didn't find much that was "sweet" in this book. Chapter 3 in particular was very disturbing.

Hey Nathan ...

Thanks for your comment ... obviously (perhaps I should have said this, my bad!) this book is written by a Christian to Christians.

It's in that context that this book is "sweet" because it refocuses those guys who have named the Lord as the god they worship and follow in their life (i.e.. the def of Christian) to what the Lord teaches is the ideal.

If you aren't into having the Lord as god over your life, then it would, indeed, be very disturbing because the call that the chapter contains is not a reflection of pop culture and the zeitgeist of 2012 but rather the total opposite.

So, yeah ... good comment, my bad for setting the context up poorly.
